Thought your day was fast-paced? Find out what happened when Randstad Interim Executives took on Bruno Senna

Success in Formula One requires specialist expertise and the ability to bring a team together to achieve a high performance objective. This is also true for the many interim professionals we represent at Randstad Interim Executives.

Randstad, an official partner of the Williams F1 Team, invited our clients to an exclusive Formula 1 event on 4th July 2012 in the heart of Canary Wharf plaza, providing a once in a lifetime opportunity to race against Bruno Senna.

Nephew of the legendary Ayrton Senna, Bruno set the lap time for our clients to compete against in state-of-the-art advanced Formula 1 style simulators in addition to setting the pace on a large-scale Scalextric.

From racing karts on the family farm in Brazil to racing alongside Pastor Maldonado for the Williams F1 Team, attendees also had the unique opportunity to get the inside track on life in the fast lane. The event was covered by BBC Talk Sport, the Evening Standard and Sky TV and you can catch a glimpse of the action here (with sky video)

On the night a competition ran to find the fastest would-be Formula One driver from our clients. Professionals working within the engineering sector were the fastest movers putting the manufacturing industry firmly into second place - and upstaging financial services, with the engineers an average of 20 seconds faster per lap than bankers.

The biggest surprise of the competition came from Senna’s time of 1.47.393 being beaten by a fast-moving project manager, Attila Barnacz from Vinci, who clocked a time of 1.43.837. Although Senna was driving freestyle, as opposed to racing with traction control on, we still like to think racing so many interim professionals helped keep Senna sharp and propel him to two points and 9th position at Silverstone, and a good run ever since in the following Grand Prix.
